De Minaur and Auger-Aliassime cruises into Rotterdam quarter-finals
Alex De Minaur is through to the Rotterdam Open quarter-finals for the fifth consecutive year after breezing past Stan Wawrinka in straight sets.
The Australian has never got his hands on the trophy, but he put in another solid performance to earn his 6-4 6-2 victory over the 2015 champion in 71 minutes.
Wawrinka fended off two break points in the opening game, and though he held onto his serve in that one, he was not able to in the next.
De Minaur was pegged back at 4-4 as he suffered his only break of the match, but he won the last two games to take the lead.
He then strung together a five-game winning streak in the second set, with Wawrinka only able to delay his victory slightly in the end.

Elsewhere, Felix Auger-Aliassime joined De Minaur in the last eight with a straight-sets victory over Hamad Medjedovic.
The Canadian faced just one break point in a dominant victory as he extended his winning streak to six games, having triumphed in Montpellier last week.
Data Debrief: De Minaur matches Federer
De Minaur advanced to the quarter-finals for the fifth year in a row, equalling three-time champion Roger Federer's record for consecutive appearances at that stage.
A finalist in the past two editions of the tournament, De Minaur has earned more wins (15) than anyone in this year's field.
This was also his 50th win at ATP 500 events since the start of 2023, winning three titles in that time, and he will be keen to end his wait for one in Rotterdam.
