Emma Raducanu bowed out of the Internationaux de Strasbourg after being on the wrong end of an inspired Danielle Collins fightback in their second-round clash.

The 2021 US Open champion was pegged back after winning the opening set against the 2022 Australian Open finalist, who eventually prevailed 4-6 6-1 6-3 after two hours and 20 minutes.

Both players saved early break points in the opening set, before Raducanu converted her opportunity in game five for a 3-2 lead.

The Briton rescued two more break points in the following game, before a love hold moved her halfway towards the quarter-finals.

However, Collins responded with a vengeance, breaking in games two and four before a love hold levelled the contest and took it the distance.

The American, who reached the final of this event last year, was forced to save four break points in game four of the deciding set, and eventually held before breaking in the next game.

Raducanu responded immediately to break back, though it proved a false dawn as she won just one more point thereon.

Indeed, Collins reeled off 12 of the last 13 points to set up a quarter-final showdown with either Jessica Pegula or Anna Kalinskaya.

Data Debrief: Collins gets the break she needs

Both players saw plenty of break-point opportunities materialise and, ultimately, the contest hinged on who would take them.

Collins converted five of her nine, while rescuing two of the 10 Raducanu forced. The American also hammered 10 aces to her opponent's five.

Runner-up to Madison Keys in Strasbourg last year, Collins has now won six of her last seven matches at the WTA 500 event.
