Caitlin Clark took responsibility for the Indiana Fever's overtime defeat to the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday.

The reigning WNBA champions clinched an 86-84 victory at Gainbridge Fieldhouse after Chelsea Gray made buzzer-beating three-pointers both at the end of the fourth quarter and in overtime.

Clark struggled in the loss as she made just seven of her 20 field goal attempts and two of her 10 shots from beyond the arc, while she also committed eight turnovers to go with her 20 points and eight assists.

The 24-year-old also made crucial errors in key moments, first missing two free throws with seven seconds to go in regulation time, and then losing possession with seven seconds left in overtime.

Clark's eight turnovers were higher than her 2026 season average of 4.7, while her 66.7% free-throw percentage (4/6) was also lower than her season average (86.2%).

"Obviously, it just can't happen," Clark said of her eight turnovers and the two missed free throws.

"Those are free throws I usually make and certainly frustrating.

"Obviously, one of them gives us a two-possession lead and kind of caused my pain there, for sure, so that's on me."

The Fever have now lost back-to-back outings after putting together a five-game win streak, leaving them with a 19-12 record on the season.

Indiana are second in the Eastern Conference, behind the Atlanta Dream (19-11), while their record is the fifth-best overall in the WNBA this season.
