Bergs caps turnaround in form with comeback victory at Eastbourne
Zizou Bergs came from a set down to beat Ugo Humbert 3-6 6-1 6-4 to win the Eastbourne Open title.
Bergs had been on a six-match losing streak prior to this tournament, but he has flipped the script over the past week and has now won his first ATP Tour-level title.
He had to do it the hard way in a final that was suspended on Saturday due to rain, as he fell behind after the opening set once play resumed on Sunday.
Yet the Belgian hit back with a swift break of serve in the second set, providing the platform for Bergs to storm clear and restore parity.
The decider was much tighter, but Bergs managed to get on top of Humbert's serve to nose into a 4-3 lead, and he served out the win with his second match point.
"Thank you to my team," Bergs said.
"We make a great team. We have fun together and we definitely work together really well to always improve. If the results are not there, we keep focusing on improving, and that's why we're here standing with the trophy."
Coincidentally, the pair will meet again next week, with Bergs and Humbert drawn against each other in the first round at Wimbledon.

Bergs breaks new ground
Not only was this Bergs' first title, after near-misses in Auckland and 's-Hertogenbosch last year, but he also became the first Belgian man to win a Tour-level trophy on grass.
Bergs is the seventh player to win their first Tour-level title in 2026.
"Zizou, I would like to congratulate you on your first ATP title," said Humbert, who missed out on his eighth career title.
"You played really great today, so congratulations to you and your team. See you in two days for the rematch at Wimbledon!"
