Badosa comeback stuns Gauff in Berlin last 16
Paula Badosa came from behind to stun Coco Gauff at the Berlin Open and book her place in the quarter-finals.
Gauff made a strong start, but her recent struggles continued as Badosa fought back to earn a 1-6 6-3 6-2 victory in one hour and 38 minutes.
The American, who saw her French Open title defence ended in the third round last time out, raced into a 3-0 lead, and though Badosa got on the board, Gauff reeled off another three games to take the first set.
However, the Spaniard immediately flipped the script in the second, winning three straight games herself to gain some control.
Badosa had the chance to serve for the set at 5-1, but instead saw Gauff pull back two games before she eventually forced a decider.
Gauff continued to struggle, though, and a double fault at the wrong time put Badosa 4-1 up and in total control as she then converted her first match point to get over the line.

Gauff's Wimbledon preparations take a knock
After a disappointing end to the clay swing, Gauff would have been hoping to build up a head of steam before going to SW19, but Badosa put a spanner in the works.
At one stage, Gauff had been flying, but instead, Badosa earned her first top-10 win in exactly a year, since defeating Emma Navarro at Berlin 2025, which was also the last time she reached a tour-level quarter-final.
She now has a 5-3 record over Gauff, though this is her first such victory on grass.
And she was not the only one to spring a surprise, as in the last first-round match to be played on Wednesday, Alexandra Eala saved 12 of 14 break points to defeat Queen's champion Donna Vekic 7-5 6-4.
Jessica Pegula is also through to the last eight after a comfortable 6-2 6-4 victory over Katerina Siniakova.
