Tottenham moved level on points with north London rivals Arsenal in the Women's Super League after coming out on top in a 10-goal thriller with Aston Villa on Sunday, earning a stunning 7-3 triumph.

With Arsenal's game against Brighton later in the day postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, Martin Ho's side took full advantage with a brilliant attacking display at Villa Park.

Signe Gaupset saw her 10th-minute opener cancelled out by Kirsty Hanson, only for two goals in seven minutes from Beth England and Olivia Holdt to put Spurs in control.

Villa reduced the deficit in the 68th minute when Oriane Jean-Francois finished past Lize Kop, but just 69 seconds later, Cathinka Tandberg restored Spurs' two-goal advantage.

And the scoring was not done there. Maika Hamano raced in behind the Villa defence before rounding Ellie Roebuck and finishing into an empty net from inside the penalty area.

The enthralling encounter continued to deliver as three goals in five minutes late on provided an entertaining conclusion, with Hanson netting her second to pull one back for Villa.

However, substitute Tandberg clinched her brace before Julie Blakstad concluded the scoring in the 85th minute, flicking Gaupset's corner into the bottom-left corner.

Elsewhere, Manchester United kept their faint title hopes alive as Millie Turner's 79th-minute winner guided the Red Devils to a 2-1 victory over the London City Lionesses.

London City needed just five minutes to open the scoring when Nikita Parris, against her former club, stooped low to head Freya Godfrey's cross into the bottom-right corner.

But United restored parity through Jess Park, who brilliantly flashed a 25-yard effort past Elene Lete in the 30th minute, though both teams struggled in the final third after the break.

The decisive moment came with 11 minutes remaining, when Maya Le Tissier's free-kick went all the way to Turner, who steered her header over Lete from close range.

Chelsea also maintained their hunt for a top-three finish at Kingsmeadow as goals in either half from Sjoeke Nusken and Lauren James sealed a 2-0 win over Liverpool.

Alice Bergstrom thought she had given Liverpool a shock early lead when she fired past Hannah Hampton, but the goal was ruled out for a handball by the Reds forward.

Chelsea made the most of that reprieve five minutes before half-time when James' teasing cross into the area from the left-hand side was flicked into the net by Nusken.

James was involved again to seal the victory in the 65th minute, cutting inside from the left before crashing a fierce shot beyond the grasp of visiting goalkeeper Jennifer Falk.

Everton also made it three consecutive WSL wins for the first time since January 2023 as Honoka Hayashi's early goal was enough to clinch a 1-0 win over struggling West Ham.

Hayashi scored the game's only goal in the eighth minute, tucking home from close range after being picked out inside the six-yard box by Hannah Blundell's inviting centre.

Data Debrief: Super Spurs reach seventh heaven

After beating Villa 2-1 in the reverse fixture this season, Spurs completed a league double over the Villans for the first time in the WSL, and they did so with a stunning attacking display here, with England and Blakstad starring.

England finished the match with team-high totals for shots on target (three) and touches in the opposition box (11), while no player created more chances than Blakstad's six as she continued her fine start to life at Spurs since her switch from Hammarby in January.

Spurs finished the game with an expected goals (xG) total of just 2.8, though, despite firing 27 shots at goal, compared to Villa's measly 0.82 from their 10 attempts in the match.

Natalia Arroyo's side have now lost four of their last five WSL games in 2026 (W1), matching the amount of defeats across their final 16 league matches of 2025 (W8 D4 L4).
