Fulham, Sunderland and Wolves all avoided FA Cup fourth-round upsets against lower-league opposition on Sunday.

Marco Silva's side appeared the most likely to suffer a surprise defeat, having fallen behind to Bae Jun-Ho's 19th-minute opener for Stoke City.

But Fulham fought back for a 2-1 away win as Kevin profited from a fortuitous bounce to finish past Tommy Simkin, who then needlessly gave away possession for Harrison Reed to win it with six minutes remaining.

Fellow Premier League side Sunderland booked their place in the fifth round with a narrow 1-0 win at Championship strugglers Oxford United.

In a game of few clear chances, Habib Diarra's 32nd-minute penalty proved the difference after Christ Makosso brought down Dennis Cirkin inside Oxford's area.

And while Wolves may be set to drop down to the second tier next season, they safely navigated a tricky trip to League Two's Grimsby Town with a hard-fought 1-0 win on the road.

Grimsby had already eliminated Manchester United on penalties in the EFL Cup this campaign, but there was no such joy this time around at Blundell Park, where heavy rain turned the pitch into a quagmire that looked almost unplayable at times.

Rob Edwards' side were made to wait for the decisive goal before Santiago Bueno swept Joao Gomes' cross home on the hour to snatch the victory.

Data Debrief: Unlikely heroes for Fulham

Kevin went goalless in his first 20 outings for Fulham but has scored three goals in his last seven appearances in all competitions.

Reed has also now scored two goals this season in all competitions, only one fewer than he managed across the previous six campaigns (all three in 2022-23).

That pair ensured Stoke lost for a 10th consecutive FA Cup game against Premier League opposition, and Silva will feel it was a deserved win, having seen Fulham accumulate 1.56 expected goals (xG) to their hosts' 0.41.
