Swiatek and Andreeva soar into China Open third round
Iga Swiatek made a strong start to her China Open campaign with a dominant straight-sets victory over Yue Yuan.
The top seed took just 74 minutes to wrap up a 6-0 6-3 win and book her place in the third round, where she will play Camila Osorio.
Fresh from her triumph at the Korea Open last week, Swiatek raced through the opening set, courtesy of her record-breaking 34th bagel at WTA-1000 events since the format's introduction in 2009.
The Pole then came through the second without too many difficulties to seal her 25th match win in such tournaments this season.
Swiatek was joined in round three by Mirra Andreeva, who was a 6-2 6-2 winner over another Chinese opponent in Zhu Lin.
The 18-year-old set the tone by breaking serve in the opening game, and never looked back as she improved her record at WTA-1000 events this year to 21-5.

Data Debrief: Third time lucky for Swiatek
Swiatek is the first player to register 25 or more victories at WTA-1000 events in three successive seasons, and three seasons overall.
The Pole did so courtesy of her 122nd win in 150 WTA-1000 matches, a tally only bettered by Serena Williams (131).
Elsewhere, Andreeva matched Monica Seles for the sixth-most wins in Tier 1/WTA-1000 events before turning 19 (37).
