Anisimova aims to 'rewrite the story' at Wimbledon after 2025 final thrashing
Amanda Anisimova wants to "rewrite the story" at Wimbledon "in a more positive way" after a thumping loss in the final last year.
The 24-year-old reached her maiden grand slam showpiece last season at SW19, but then lost 6-0 6-0 to Iga Swiatek in just 57 minutes.
Anisimova became the first player since 1911 to lose a women's Wimbledon showpiece without winning a single game, while it was the first such defeat across all grand slam events since Steffi Graf's double bagel win over Natasha Zvereva at Roland-Garros in 1988.
The American also reached the final of the US Open later in 2025, where she lost to Aryna Sabalenka, though she did win a WTA 1000 event in Beijing before the end of the year.
Anisimova is now sixth in the WTA rankings with a 14-8 record in 2026, and she is hoping to go one step further at Wimbledon this time around.
"Wimbledon is Wimbledon. I'll always love coming back," Anisimova told BBC Sport.

"I have great memories from it. I'm hoping to maybe rewrite the story in a more positive way and hopefully go all the way at some point in my career.
"You quickly learn a lot of things and how to handle a lot of stressful situations on your own.
"I feel like I'm not my current age – I feel I'm a lot older than I am, although I do like acting like a kid and having my inner child come out sometimes."
The main draw at Wimbledon is set to start next week, and though Sabalenka is still world number one, she has not won a title on the WTA Tour since the Miami Open in March.
Elena Rybakina won the Australian Open this year, while Mirra Andreeva claimed her maiden major at the French Open.
