Series sweep of Afghanistan perfect response to Asia Cup disappointment, says Jaker
Jaker Ali was thrilled with the response shown by Bangladesh in their T20I series sweep of Afghanistan following their early exit from the Asia Cup.
Bangladesh ran out six-wicket victors in the final match of the series on Sunday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, led by an array of exceptional bowling displays.
Mohammad Saifuddin was the pick of the bunch with figures of 3-15, while Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Nasum Ahmed also chipped in with two wickets apiece for Bangladesh.
Afghanistan set their opponents a target of 144 for victory, and they started their defence well when Parvez Hossain Emon was dismissed 14 runs.
However, Saif Hassan's 38-ball 64, which brought up his fourth T20I half-century, proved to be the difference for Bangladesh as Nurul Hasan struck the winning runs with two overs to spare.
Indeed, Bangladesh have now won nine of their 16 T20Is against Afghanistan, only winning more such games against Zimbabwe (17) in the shortest format.

This series marked Bangladesh's first matches since their exit from the Asia Cup at the Super Four stage.
Bangladesh had beaten Sri Lanka in their first match of the second stage of the tournament, but were then beaten by India and Pakistan by the finest of margins.
They will now face Afghanistan in three ODIs in Abu Dhabi before taking on West Indies, and Jaker is hoping to continue the winning momentum.
"Yes, definitely, the boys managed to rebound after a disappointing Asia Cup, and the way they came back is truly amazing to see," the Bangladesh captain said.
"We are most pleased about the fielding. James Pamment has come on board as fielding coach, and we've done a good job as a fielding side.
"Our bowlers have done a really good job. They made it easier for the batters, and the batters also delivered."
"All [of the squad] are capable. All are good players. They just need to believe that they are the best and that they can put up good performances on the world stage."
