Shai Hope scored another century as West Indies levelled their T20I series against India with a 24-run victory in Hyderabad.

The West Indies captain scored an unbeaten 102 off just 50 deliveries as the tourists defended their total of 247-3 and levelled the series at 2-2, setting up a winner-takes-all finale.

India won the toss and chose to bowl first, which worked against them as Hope and Jewel Andrew (21) made a fast start.

Axar Patel (1-45) managed to trap Andrew LBW, and while Shimron Hetmyer (33) and Rovman Powell (24) scored quick runs, Sherfane Rutherford's unbeaten 49 off 26 propelled West Indies towards a big total.

Hope smashed a six off the final ball to reach his century, though India made a rapid start to their chase as Sanju Samson (56) caused havoc in the powerplay.

But Keemo Paul (5-41) then came to the fore, removing Samson and Ishan Kishan (6) in the fifth over, before Gudakesh Motie (2-13) sent Abhishek Sharma (29) back to the dressing room.

Tilak Varma (43) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (41) threatened to pull off a huge chase, but Paul returned to take three wickets in the penultimate over and keep the series alive.

Hope leads from the front again

For the fourth time on this tour, and the second time in this series, Hope has scored a century to frustrate the Indian bowlers.

He has now scored more centuries than any other West Indies player in the shortest format (three), with his last six, which was the ninth of his innings, taking him past the 2,000-run mark in men's T20Is.

Only Powell (2,400), Nicholas Pooran (2,275) and Brandon King (2,028) have scored more T20 runs for West Indies than the skipper (2,004).

Paul, meanwhile, is the first West Indies bowler to record multiple five-wicket hauls in men's T20Is, with the series finely poised ahead of what now promises to be an enthralling clash in Bengaluru on Saturday.
