NBA: Wembanyama stars again as Spurs remain undefeated
Victor Wembanyama had 24 points, 15 rebounds and four assists, Stephon Castle added 22 points, and the San Antonio Spurs improved to 4-0 on the season with a 121-103 win over the Toronto Raptors on Monday.
San Antonio and the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder remain the only unbeaten teams in the Western Conference.
Wembanyama, who has been red-hot to start the 2025-26 campaign, shot 7 for 8 from the field and 10 of 10 from the free throw line.
After Wembanyama’s sophomore season was cut short by blood clotting issues last year, the towering Frenchman is averaging 31 points, 13.8 rebounds and 4.8 blocked shots per game so far this season while shooting over 60 percent from the field.
Harrison Barnes chipped in 18 points on Monday, making four of his five 3-point attempts. Rookie Dylan Harper added 11 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Spurs.
RJ Barrett led the Raptors with 25 points as they dropped their third consecutive game after a promising, season-opening win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Oklahoma City was outscored by 11 points in the fourth quarter but got a pair of late buckets from Isaiah Hartenstein and some key defensive stops to seal the road victory.
Chet Holmgren had 18 points and 11 rebounds, Hartenstein finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds and Ajay Mitchell scored 17 off the bench for the Thunder’s balanced attack.
With Dallas centres Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford sidelined by injury, the Thunder outscored the Mavericks 68-36 in the paint.

Rookie top pick Cooper Flagg, playing in his first NBA back-to-back, scored just two points on 1-of-9 shooting.
