Tatjana Maria capped an astonishing week at Queen's Club by claiming the title with a straight-sets win over Amanda Anisimova.

Maria went on an incredible run from qualifying to triumph and became the first women's champion at Queen's in 52 years with her 6-3 6-4 win.

The 37-year-old stormed into a 4-1 lead, breaking Anisimova's serve to love during a three-game winning streak.

American Anisimova fought back, pulling closer at 4-3, but Maria immediately earned another break before a hold to love saw her take the first set.

Maria went a break up early in the second set and did not look back from there. A wide Anisimova forehand sealed the title for the German.

She is the first female champion at Queen's since Olga Morozova, who claimed the title the last time the women's tournament was held back in 1973.

Data Debrief: Maria makes her experience count

Maria's professional debut came just a few days before 23-year-old Anisimova was born, and she used her experience through a sensational run at Queen's.

She has beaten four top-15 players this week, including Australian Open champion Madison Keys, en route to claiming a fourth career title.

Maria became the oldest singles champion on the WTA Tour since another returning mother, Serena Williams, won in Auckland in 2020 (aged 38). She also maintained her perfect record in WTA singles finals, improving to 4-0.
