LeBron 'couldn't dream of a better moment' after starring alongside Bronny for Lakers
LeBron James said he could not have dreamed of a better moment after he combined with son Bronny James to help the Los Angeles Lakers defeat the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
The NBA's all-time leading scorer had 23 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in the Lakers' 137-130 victory, which also contained a 43-point haul from MVP contender Luka Doncic.
But the most special part of the game came when father and son combined, with Bronny playing 13 minutes off the bench and making a major impact defensively.
Bronny, who was taken by the Lakers in the second round of the 2024 draft, was substituted in alongside his father at one point in the third quarter.
Asked about that moment, LeBron told The Athletic: "Especially knowing the path, or the road, I'm just so proud of him. I'm super proud of him. And he belongs.
"Real, meaningful minutes... I couldn't dream of better. I couldn't dream of something better than that. He's shown his progression, why he belongs in this league, and what he can do in this league.
"So, for the coaching staff to trust him tonight, and for him to have significant playing time and make plays, and for me to be out there on the floor with him...
"I couldn't dream of a better feeling than that. I could not."
Bronny, who scored four points and had two steals during his time on the court, said: "I've been around him and basketball at the same time for a while now, so it's not that special.
"The first couple of times were, of course, but it's my second year now, and I'm just trying to prove myself."

LeBron also expressed pride in the way his son has fought to make it in the league, having suffered a cardiac arrest during a workout while with USC in July 2023.
"That's what he's cut from. That's just our household. We don't do s*** half-a****. That's just how we work, everybody. Mom, sister, brother, dad, everybody," he said.
"That's just where we come from. We come from the Midwest, and we come from Akron, Ohio, where s*** ain't really given to you.
"Like I said before, the kid, he doesn't have to do this. After having the situation that he had, do you think he really had to work to get back in shape and play basketball? He could have been like, 'Man, f*** this s***. I'm going to do anything I want.'"
The 47-26 Lakers have now wrapped up a six-game road stretch, winning five of those games, and are next in action at home to the Brooklyn Nets on Friday.
