Kuminga situation 'not a distraction' for Warriors, insists Green
Draymond Green insisted that Jonathan Kuminga's trade request would not a distraction for the Golden State Warriors following their win over the New York Knicks.
The Warriors improved to 23-19 after Jimmy Butler's 32 points and eight rebounds sealed a 126-113 win over the Knicks, who have won just two of their last nine games.
Steph Curry also chipped in with 27 points and seven assists, while Moses Moody added 21 with seven 3-pointers. Brandin Podziemski also had 19 points.
However, the post-game discussions surrounded the future of Kuminga, who has reportedly issued a trade demand to the organisation after becoming trade eligible on Thursday.
The Sacramento Kings and the Dallas Mavericks have been linked with a potential trade for Kuminga, who has not graced the court in the last 14 games for Golden State.
"Everyone around here can confidently say it won't be a distraction because he is not a distraction," Green said, pointing across the locker room to Kuminga's locker.
Kuminga has averaged 11.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists for the Warriors, who are eighth in the Western Conference, this season.
"It's a very unique situation," Curry added. "Our job is to keep playing, keep winning. It'll resolve itself one way or the other."

Butler is a player who has been in a similar situation to Kuminga, most notably when the 36-year-old joined Golden State from the Miami Heat last February.
"We love JK in this locker room," Butler said. "That's not going to change. If that happens to not be here, we still rock with JK.
"That's for everybody. I wish him the best here. I wish him the best wherever."
But when Butler was asked whether he wanted the Warriors to fulfil Kuminga's desire to explore a new opportunity, he ensured he did not get too involved in the situation.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey," Butler said. "It ain't got nothing to do with me. I want JK to be happy.
"At the end of the day, that's what I want. Whatever brings him his joy and his happiness, that's what I want."
