Kuminga injured in Warriors' loss to Mavericks
Just after returning to the court for the Golden State Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga could suddenly be out again - this time because of an injury.
Kuminga injured his left ankle and knee in Golden State's 123-115 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, as the Warriors dropped to 0-2 since losing Jimmy Butler to a season-ending knee injury.
Butler's injury opened the door for Kuminga to return to the rotation, and he had 10 points in nine minutes before getting hurt when taking an awkward step on a drive to the basket.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he would have an MRI.

Kuminga had reportedly requested to be traded just days ago, but the Warriors (25-21) were planning on the disgruntled player having a larger role on the team with Butler lost for the season. In Golden State's first game following Butler's injury, Kuminga had 20 points in 21 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's 145-127 loss to the Toronto Raptors - Kuminga's first action after Kerr chose not to play him in the Warriors' previous 16 contests.
The Mavericks (19-26) extended their winning streak to a season-high four games behind Naji Marshall, who tied a season high with 30 points on 10-of-12 shooting and added nine assists and seven rebounds. Cooper Flagg contributed 21 points and a career-best 11 rebounds in his second game back after missing the previous two with a left ankle sprain.
Stephen Curry led all players with 38 points and made 8 of 15 shots from 3-point range. His eighth 3-point attempt marked the 10,000th shot from beyond the arc in his career.
Clippers hold off Lakers to stay hot
The Los Angeles Clippers withstood a frantic rally from their cross-town rival to hold on for a 112-104 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers to continue their surge.
The Clippers (20-24) looked like they were going to win easily, as they led by as much as 26 in the third quarter and 14 in the fourth, but the Lakers stormed back and pulled within two points on a Luka Dončić 3-pointer with 5:56 to play.
James Harden then responded with a 3-pointer of his own to kickstart a 10-0 run by the Clippers to put them up 103-91.
The Lakers (26-17) then scored 11 of the game's next 13 points to pull within three before the Clippers were able to close things out behind a Ivica Zubac reverse dunk and John Collins' 3-pointer to win for the 14th time in 17 games.

Harden and Zubac each scored 18, while Zubac also grabbed a season high-tying 19 rebounds. Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 24 points in 26 minutes after missing the previous three games with a left knee contusion.
Dončić led the Lakers with 32 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists and LeBron James finished with 23 points, six assists and five boards.
Maxey's late surge helps 76ers get past Rockets in OT
Tyrese Maxey made clutch plays down the stretch and scored six of his 36 points in overtime, while Joel Embiid notched his first triple-double of the season to help the Philadelphia 76ers to a 128-122 win over the Houston Rockets.
Maxey scored 11 points in the final four minutes of regulation to force overtime, then in the extra session, he scored the game's final four points - including a running dunk in the closing seconds.
Embiid fed Maxey on the final dunk and finished with 32 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Maxey also had 10 assists, while Kelly Ourbe Jr. added 26 points for the 76ers (24-19), who went 3-3 on a six-game homestand.

The Rockets (26-16) lost for the first time in four games and fell to 1-5 on the season in games that go to overtime.
Kevin Durant had 36 points on 13-of-21 shooting but was also responsible for eight of Houston's 17 turnovers.
Durant was also credited with a block on Maxey's driving layup attempt with 13.2 seconds remaining in regulation that would've put Philadelphia ahead. Replays showed it was actually goaltending but the 76ers were unable to challenge the call because of an inadvertent whistle.
