Johnson to miss Open Championship after withdrawing from qualifying
Dustin Johnson will be absent from this year's Open Championship, after withdrawing from the final qualifying event.
The two-time major winner is set to miss the tournament, at which he finished tied for second in 2011, for the first time in 17 years.
Johnson had entered final qualifying at Dundonald Links, having not qualified automatically for the 2026 event at Royal Birkdale, which begins on July 16.
However, the former world number one has since been removed from the entry list, though the reasons for which remain unclear.
Round one of Final Qualifying is coming to a close.

Johnson, the winner of the 2016 US Open and 2020 Masters, has only recorded a solitary top-20 finish in his last 15 major appearances.
The 42-year-old's absence ends a streak of 38 consecutive major starts, stretching back to the 2017 Masters.
