Alexander Zverev believes Carlos Alcaraz is too good for the opponents on his side of the French Open draw.

And the German has no doubt that two-time Roland-Garros champion Alcaraz will reach the final once more.

Alcaraz booked his spot in the last 16 with a comfortable win over Damir Dzumhur.

The Spaniard has dropped just two sets in his victories over Dzumhur, Fabian Marozsan, and Giulio Zeppieri. Ben Shelton stands between Alcaraz and a spot in the quarter-finals.

And Zverev, who lost to Alcaraz in last year's showpiece match, struggles to see the 22-year-old failing to reach the final again.

“I honestly think Carlos will be in the final,” said Zverev.

“To be very fair, I don’t think there’s anyone on that side of the draw that will challenge him too much.

“He’s the favourite, of course. Before coming into the tournament, I think everyone kind of realised that.

“All the people who can challenge him, all the contenders outside of him are on the top half of the draw. We will have to really battle it out and I’ll think he’ll enjoy watching it."

Zverev will face Tallon Griekspoor in the fourth round after he beat Flavio Cobolli in straight sets.

A potential route to the final for the 2025 Australian Open runner-up could see him face Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals and possibly Jannik Sinner or Jack Draper in the last four.
