Alcaraz cruises past Norrie into Indian Wells semis
Carlos Alcaraz reached a fifth straight Indian Wells semi-final after a straight-sets victory over Cameron Norrie.
Alcaraz continued his impressive unbeaten start to the season as he took just one hour and 33 minutes to earn his 6-3 6-4 win over the Brit in the last eight.
The Spaniard started strong, getting the first break to take a 4-2 lead, and though Norrie immediately got back on serve, Alcaraz regained his advantage to take the first set in just over half an hour.
Norrie then took the first two games of the second, but Alcaraz soon regained his momentum, responding with a four-game winning streak.
The 30-year-old stopped Alcaraz from converting his first three match points, the first two of which came on Norrie's serve, but the world number one booked his place in the last four on the fourth attempt.

He will face Daniil Medvedev for a place in the final, after the Russian knocked out reigning champion Jack Draper after a controversial hindrance call.
Medvedev triumphed 6-1 7-5, but the former world number one was booed after a tense moment midway through the second set.
Draper, serving at 5-5 0-15, briefly stretched his arms out wide during a rally after he thought Medvedev's forehand had gone long. The rally continued for seven more shots before the two-time finalist netted a backhand.
Medvedev then asked the umpire for a video review to see whether Draper had been guilty of a hindrance, with the ruling going against the Brit and the point being given against him.
Data Debrief: Alcaraz breaks new ground
Since the format's introduction in 1990, Alcaraz (22 years and 303 days) is now the youngest player to reach at least five consecutive semi-finals at a single ATP Masters 1000 event, surpassing Rafael Nadal (22y 313d) in Monte Carlo.
And since 1976, he is just the second player to reach at least consecutive men's singles semi-finals at Indian Wells, after Nadal and Novak Djokovic – Alcaraz is the youngest of the three to achieve the feat.
Alcaraz is now 16-0 for the season as he looks to continue his perfect start to 2026 by claiming his first Indian Wells title since 2024.
