Aryna Sabalenka swatted aside Olga Danilovic 6-2 6-3 to book her place in the fourth round at Roland-Garros.

Sabalenka had too much for Serbian opponent on Court Philippe-Chatrier on Friday, as she cruised through with the minimum of fuss.

Danilovic did claim two breaks, but Sabalenka always kept her at arm's length, and served out the victory with a huge forehand winner.

Amanda Anisimova, after beating Clara Tauson, is next up for Sabalenka, who said: "I'm super happy with the win, Olga is a fighter and I knew it was going to be a fight.

"I really enjoyed playing against her, she played like a top 10 player and I'm sure soon she will be in the top 10. I enjoyed our battle and I'm supper happy to be through this difficult match."

Qinwen Zheng could well be Sabalenka's opponent in the quarter-finals.

Zheng, an Olympic gold medallist in Paris last year, defeated Sabalenka for the first time at the Italian Open earlier this month.

She beat 18-year-old Victoria Mboko 6-3 6-4 earlier on.

Data Debrief: The top seed on top of her game

Sabalenka has conceded only 10 games en route to the last 16. It is the second-fewest amount of games she has dropped across the first three rounds of a grand slam, after losing six at last year's Australian Open, which she went on to win.

The world number one has now reached the fourth round at 16 grand slams since the start of the 2020 season.

In that same time, only four-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek (16) has reached the fourth round of majors on more occasions.
