Mirra Andreeva reached the last eight at Roland-Garros for the third straight year as she dispatched a resurgent Jil Teichmann.

With big names Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek crashing out over the weekend, Andreeva is now one of the favourites to triumph in Paris.

And the 19-year-old lived up to the billing with a confident 6-3 6-2 victory, which she sealed in just 85 minutes.

Next up for Andreeva is Sorana Cirstea, who has reached the last eight at the French Open for the first time in 17 years.

Cirstea is 17 years Andreeva's senior. The pair have met once before on the WTA Tour, with the Russian coming out on top.

The age gap of 17 years and 22 days between Cirstea and Andreeva will be the biggest in a women's singles grand slam quarter-final since Martina Navratilova and Jennifer Capriati (19 years, 162 days) at Wimbledon in 1991.

Elina Svitolina, meanwhile, overcame Belinda Bencic to continue her fine form at the grand slams this season. The Ukrainian won 4-6 6-4 6-0.

Data Debrief: Andreeva's Paris passion

Andreeva is just the fifth teenager since 1990 to make three or more consecutive quarter-finals at the French Open.

She has joined Monica Seles (1990-1992), Iva Majoli (1995-1997), Martina Hingis (1997-2000) and Gauff (2021-2023) on that exclusive list.

Andreeva is the youngest woman to reach 3+ consecutive quarter-finals at Roland-Garros since Hingis in 1999.

In the Open Era, Andreeva (74.5%, 35-12) trails only Mary Jo Fernandez (75.0%, 141-47) for win rate at grand slam events among players to not win a major (minimum 20 matches played).
