Frank: Tottenham's 'big win' over Dortmund must be catalyst for consistency
Thomas Frank toasted Tottenham's "big win" over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, but he acknowledged it must be the catalyst for more consistency.
Frank watched on as his team secured their spot in the knockout stages of Europe's elite competition with a 2-0 win over the Bundesliga giants, who saw Daniel Svensson sent off.
However, Spurs' performances in the Premier League have not met that standard, with a defeat to rivals West Ham last time out leaving them 14th in the table.
Frank's side make the trip to Turf Moor to face relegation-threatened Burnley this Saturday, and the Dane insists he does not feel any heightened pressure.
Asked if Spurs' midweek performance proved he was worth sticking with, Frank smiled: "I think it's about the team and everything, but, of course, I understand the question.
"What I feel the whole time is... the staff is with us, I think the players are with us, the ownership, everyone wants the same thing, and we're on the same page.
"We do a lot of things in the right direction and it was a big performance and a big win.
"Of course, I'm very aware of that, but I'm also very aware that this is something we have done, and we need to keep that consistency and turn that around a little bit.
"As I say, some of the other games we easily could have won. Now we need to build on this."

Burnley, meanwhile, enter their clash with Spurs buoyed by coming from a goal down to take a point away to Premier League champions Liverpool in their last league game.
The Clarets have now only lost two of their last six Premier League games (D4), having lost each of their prior seven matches in the competition.
Across that run, they have also taken points off Manchester United, Everton and Bournemouth, with Scott Parker not underestimating the magnitude of those displays, even if they have been unable to turn them into victories.
"Massive points. Our season probably won't be decided on games like today or Manchester United at home," Parker said.
"But you want to pick up points against those teams, and we have done that. We need to continue that."
The Burnley boss was particularly impressed with his team's resilience at Anfield, with Liverpool registering 32 shots, their most in a Premier League game since posting 37 against Brentford in January last season.
"The discipline we showed, the commitment and the bravery and courage. We caused Liverpool problems. Overall we were superb," Parker added.
"It's fair to say over the course of this season we have been competitive in the majority of games we have played. The points don't represent that, but it is a massive point for us."
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Burnley – Marcus Edwards
After failing to score or assist in any of his first six Premier League appearances for Burnley, Marcus Edwards has been involved in three goals across his last six games (one goal, two assists).
Indeed, after netting against Liverpool last time out, he's looking to score on consecutive league appearances for the first time since between May and August 2022, during his time with Portuguese side Sporting CP.
Tottenham – Wilson Odobert
Against Dortmund, Odobert became the first Spurs player to assist two goals in a Champions League game since Erik Lamela and Tanguy Ndombele both did so versus Red Star Belgrade in October 2022.
And at the age of 21 years and 53 days, he was the youngest player to ever assist multiple goals for Spurs in a match in the competition. He will be keen to carry that into the Premier League, given he only has one assist in 20 top-flight outings in 2025-26.

MATCH PREDICTION: TOTTENHAM WIN
Spurs average 2.2 goals per game in the Premier League against Burnley (41 goals in 19 games), only averaging more against Hull City, among sides they’ve faced 10+ times (2.3).
Tottenham are also unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League away games against promoted sides (W11 D2) since a 3-1 loss at Leeds United in May 2021, but they have struggled against sides at the wrong end of the table of late.
They have lost four of their last eight league games against sides in the relegation zone (W3 D1), including a 2-1 loss against West Ham last time out. Spurs have not lost consecutive top-flight games with both coming against sides in the bottom three since March 1997 (to West Ham and Nottingham Forest).
But Frank's side have often thrived away from north London. Indeed, 67% of Spurs' Premier League points this season have come in away games (18/27), the highest share in the division.
Burnley have, meanwhile, lost six of their last seven Premier League games against Tottenham, including each of the last four in a row since a 1-0 home win in February 2022.
The Clarets are also winless in their last 13 Premier League games overall (D4 L9). They last had a longer run in the top flight between August and October 1970 (14), and in the league overall between December 2006 and March 2007 (18 in the Championship).
