The Indiana Fever announced Monday that they will not have Caitlin Clark in the lineup for a minimum of two weeks due to a left quadriceps strain.

It is uncertain when Clark sustained the injury after appearing in each of Indiana’s first four games this season and averaging 19 points, 9.3 assists and six rebounds.

Indiana (2-2) said further updates will be provided, as available, on Clark’s status following reevaluation.

Clark has yet to miss a game in her WNBA career after being the No. 1 overall pick in 2024 and going on to earn league Rookie of the Year honours.

She broke the league's single-season assist mark last season with 337 - including a WNBA-record 19 in one game - and averaged 8.4 to become the first rookie to lead the league in assists per game.

Clark’s 122 3-pointers led all WNBA players in 2024, and she scored the most points ever by a rookie with 769 while ranking seventh in the league with 19.2 per game.

Clark added 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game to help the Fever reach the play-offs for the first time since 2016 with a 20-20 record.

Sixth-seeded Indiana was swept by the No. 3 seed Connecticut Sun in a best-of-three series in the first round, with Clark averaging 18 points, 8.5 assists, five rebounds and two steals in a pair of losses.
