Kevin Durant already feels at home with the Houston Rockets after scoring 20 points on his preseason debut and is particularly excited about teaming up with Alperen Sengun.

Durant joined the Rockets from the Phoenix Suns in a record-breaking trade involving seven teams in July, with 13 players and several future draft picks being exchanged.

He made his first appearance for the team in their second pre-season game on Wednesday, impressing in a 140-127 victory over the Utah Jazz.

In 23 minutes on the court, Durant posted a team-high 20 points and went 7-of-10 shooting from the field, making one of his two 3-point attempts.

Houston have further preseason games against the New Orleans Pelicans and Atlanta Hawks to come before their 2025-26 opener versus the reigning NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

And Durant has already adapted to his new surroundings, saying: "I've felt right at home since I came here three or four weeks ago, so I felt normal.

"It felt like I've been here for a while. The guys are welcoming me pretty smoothly, the coaching staff too, so it just felt normal. It doesn't feel any different."

Durant is enthusiastic about his link-up with fellow six-foot-11 player Sengun, who had 13 points and 13 assists during Wednesday's game.

"When you've got your 5 man that can handle at the top of the key, the spacing just opens the floor up so much for us and then that makes us unpredictable," Durant said of Sengun.

"He can isolate up there, he can go set the screen, he can dribble, hand off, we can screen for him.

"It throws the defense off when he has the ball up there, and we trust he's going to make the right play every time."

Ace Bailey's game-high 25 points led the Jazz, with Brice Sensabaugh adding 24 and four other Utah players in double figures.
