Clark and Fever slam 'ridiculous' WNBA officiating again
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark and coach Stephanie White were once again left frustrated by WNBA officials during their loss to the Golden State Valkyries.
The Valkyries won 88-75 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday as Clark was held to just 13 points from her 14 field-goal attempts.
The 24-year-old's six assists also came with four turnovers, while the guard was visibly rattled in the second quarter by the officials.
While making a layup, Clark hit the floor after contact from Valkyries' Kiah Stokes, who appeared to catch the Fever player with her knee.
Clark immediately ran to the officials at the next stoppage in play, and she voiced her frustration again after the loss.
"The ref can't miss that, then I have to play with a contusion in my leg the rest of the game," Clark said.
"It's ridiculous. [The ref] said I initiated the contact. Which is fine, but you can't knee me in the leg. Knock me over.
"They're probably the best defensive team in the league. They're really good at that."
Coach White added: "They said Caitlin initiated the contact. That's all they said.
"She seems to always be initiating the contact. I'm trying to not get fined. Again, all I'll say is that we just keep asking for consistency."

Golden State, meanwhile, are now on an eight-game winning run – the longest active win streak in the league - and the second team in WNBA history to win all five or more games in a 5+ game road trip.
The Valkyries have also won 11 games by a double-digit margin this season, the most of any team in 2026, but coach Natalie Nakase is still not satisfied.
"We're really trying to prepare down the line," Nakase said. "We have to get better.
"We did not do the defensive game plan, so we have a lot to get better at rather than looking at a streak right now."
