Belinda Bencic breezed to the Pan Pacific Open title following a dominant straight-sets victory over Linda Noskova in the final.

The 2020 Olympic gold medallist in Tokyo took just 82 minutes to wrap up a 6-2 6-3 win against her Czech opponent, while securing a 10th WTA title.

Bencic had spent just under five hours more on court across the previous two days than Noskova, who progressed via a retirement and a walkover.

The Swiss also survived match point against Karolina Muchova in the quarter-finals, but took just 32 minutes to take the opening set, during which she broke her opponent twice.

Bencic battled through all seven break points she faced in the second set, before claiming a crucial break in the eighth game and holding for victory, 10 years after she was runner-up to Agnieszka Radwanska.

"I feel like Tokyo and Japan is a happy place in my career, a place where I've had good success and I just love being here," she said.

"I had a deja vu moment on court. I had match point on the same side of the court, went for the same serve and was telling myself the same things [as at the Olympics]. I had goosebumps, it was really special. It's great to win here again.

"I'm really enjoying my time back on tour and I think it's showing in the results. I couldn't be more happy, and I'm definitely surprised. This was definitely not planned."

Data Debrief: A perfect 10 for Bencic

Taking her career tally into double figures, Bencic joined Madison Keys, Elise Mertens and Elena Rybakina as the active players with 10 WTA titles.

The Swiss saved all 10 break points she faced against Noskova, while converting three of the six opportunities she forced.

It marks the second time in three years Bencic has won multiple titles in a season, with her other triumph this term coming in Abu Dhabi in January.

The 28-year-old struck 23 winners to 13 unforced errors and, though Noskova hit 28 winners, 37 unforced errors proved the Czech's undoing.
