Kimi Antonelli held off Lando Norris in a thrilling Miami Grand Prix tussle, with his latest win giving him a commanding championship lead.

Antonelli has now won the last three races in Formula One, but he was made to work hard for the victory, with Norris and, at one point, Charles Leclerc, putting the pressure on.

McLaren still had a good race, filling out the rest of the podium, as Norris had to settle for second, while Oscar Piastri crossed the line in third.

With the race brought forward by three hours due to the threat of thunderstorms, Antonelli made a slow start, and though Leclerc initially punished him by shooting forward from fourth, the Ferrari could not hold onto his lead after a Safety Car.

Norris stayed in the fight until the very end, but Antonelli gained the lead from him following a pit stop, and the Italian racked up his third win of the season to move 20 points clear.

His Mercedes team-mate George Russell claimed fourth in a tense finale, finishing ahead of Max Verstappen, who had to settle for fifth after a spin at the start saw him drop back from second on the grid, but he recovered brilliantly to jump up through the crowd.

Leclerc, after a strong start, saw his race ruined by a slow pit stop, while he finished sixth, having spun and hit the barrier as he tried to challenge Piastri, which saw him give up places.

Lewis Hamilton was just behind Leclerc in seventh, while Williams had both drivers in the top 10, with Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon registering points from ninth and 10th respectively.

Franco Colapinto of Alpine was also in the top 10 at eighth, after team-mate Pierre Gasly was flipped over following an early collision.

Data Debrief: Antonelli completes hat-trick

Antonelli is already the youngest driver to lead the drivers' standings, having claimed that record at the Japanese Grand Prix, and he has only added to that.

He is also the first winner of the Miami Grand Prix to start the race on the front row of the grid, even after failing to lead from pole.

Norris, meanwhile, has finished in the top two for the first time in six F1 races, having failed to do so in the five beforehand.
