The defending WNBA champion New York Liberty kept Caitlin Clark in check and rallied past the Indiana Fever 90-88 on the road Saturday to remain undefeated.

Jonquel Jones had 26 points and 12 rebounds, Sabrina Ionescu scored 23 and Breanna Stewart and Natasha Cloud added 16 points apiece as New York outscored Indiana 22-12 in the fourth quarter to win its third straight to open the season.

With the game tied at 88 and 2.9 seconds remaining, Ionescu was fouled and hit both free throws to put the Liberty ahead. Cloud then stripped the ball away from Clark on the final play to preserve the win for New York.

Clark finished with 18 points, 10 assists and five rebounds, but shot 6 of 18 overall and 2 of 11 from 3-point range while committing a career high-tying 10 turnovers.

Clark is 2 of 16 from beyond the arc in the last two games after shooting 9 of 19 in the first two contests of the season. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year's 10 turnovers matched her combined total from the first three games of 2025.

The Fever (2-2) were led by 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston, who recorded 27 points and 13 rebounds, while Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull each chipped in 15 points.

Dream cruise past winless Wings

The Atlanta Dream dominated the third and fourth quarters before posting an 83-75 victory at home over the winless Dallas Wings.

Atlanta (2-2) outscored Dallas 51-32 in the middle periods to take an 18-point lead into the final quarter and eventually drop the Wings to 0-4 on the season.

Allisha Gray poured in 27 points while adding six assists and five rebounds, and Brittney Griner contributed 15 points and eight boards to pace the Dream.

Paige Bueckers, selected No. 1 overall by the Wings in last month's WNBA Draft, had 11 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals.

Bueckers went 4 of 15 from the field and is shooting 34 per cent (17 of 50) so far in her brief career.
