Williams team principal James Vowles insisted he has "no concerns" after they missed the first Formula One testing session of the season.

Ahead of the 2026 campaign, which gets underway on March 8 in Australia, testing took place in Barcelona last month as the teams get to grips with the new regulations.

However, Williams chose to skip the event as there was a problem with production, which left them behind on certain parts, with the plan to be ready for Bahrain testing this week.

Williams finished fifth in the Constructors' Championship last season, with drivers Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz coming eighth and ninth respectively in the drivers' standings.

Despite their less-than-ideal start to pre-season, Vowles is confident Williams will continue their steady improvement in the competition.

"I have no concerns about going forward from here," Vowles told the F1 website.

"As strange as this sounds, we need to, as an organisation, go through these sorts of events.

"I wish it wasn't as extreme as what it was, but we need to go through that to make sure we absolutely flush out every part of our business that simply is not at the right level and fit the purpose and learn from it very quickly – and we are.

"What I've seen out of it is the drivers pulled closer together, the board pulled closer together, the team pulled together through this.

"Even while we're still now in the midst of making sure we're preparing for Bahrain and beyond, there was an ongoing review of what can we do right now to make sure that we make changes that bring us in the right direction forward."

After the Australian Grand Prix at the start of March, the calendar features races in China and Japan before the end of the month.

Before that, there will be two practice sessions in Bahrain. The first starts on Wednesday, before the second gets underway on February 18.
