Verstappen signs new Red Bull contract
Max Verstappen has signed a new contract with Red Bull, lasting until the end of the 2030 season.
The four-time world champion's previous deal was set to expire in 2028, though reports suggested he could have left at the end of the current season due to certain clauses.
There was plenty of doubt around Verstappen's future in Formula One following his open criticism of the sport's new regulations for the 2026 campaign, but those doubts have now been put to bed.
Verstappen has 71 race wins in his F1 career and finished on the podium 131 times in 244 races, while he has also claimed 48 pole positions.
"We have the best people and I'm excited to keep working together with everyone to get back to the top again," said Verstappen.

"This remains the ultimate goal that all of us have been working towards and will continue to pursue.
"I have always said it: the team is like a second family for me and I feel very at home.
"I came to the team hoping to be able to win races. What we went on to achieve together has been simply lovely and we have shared many incredible moments and won four World Championships."
The announcement came ahead of Verstappen's home Dutch Grand Prix, the first race back since the summer break.
Verstappen became the first Dutch driver to win the event when he triumphed back in 2021.
He will be racing alongside Liam Lawson this weekend after Isack Hadjar was ruled out for Red Bull with a wrist injury, while Yuki Tsunoda will fill in for Lawson at Racing Bulls.
Verstappen is sixth in the drivers' standings, 110 points behind leader Kimi Antonelli.
There was more contract news in F1 this week, too, with Carlos Sainz agreeing to extend his stay with Williams.
