Reigning Formula One champion Lando Norris has signed a new four-year contract with McLaren.

The British driver, who became a race driver for the team in 2019, will remain with the two-time defending constructors' champions until the end of 2030.

Norris has represented McLaren in 163 Grands Prix, winning 13 races and achieving 48 podium finishes, as well as 18 pole positions.

He won his maiden championship last season, beating Max Verstappen and team-mate Oscar Piastri to the title.

Reports suggested Norris' previous deal was set to expire at the end of 2027, though he had no plans to leave McLaren.

"McLaren is my home, and I’m very pleased to be signing a new contract to keep me with the team until at least 2030," Norris said.

"When I started this journey nine years ago, I was clear about the goals I wanted to achieve: to get McLaren back to the front and to win championships.

"We've achieved that goal, but we want more, we want to keep on winning, and we know as a team that we’re capable of achieving it.

"I can’t wait to get back in the car in Monza and I'm very excited about what the future holds for us, both over the rest of this season, and in the coming years."

Norris sits fourth in the Drivers' Championship, 83 behind leader Kimi Antonelli.

However, Norris is edging closer to top spot again, having won the Hungarian Grand Prix and Dutch Grand Prix either side of the summer break.

Next up is the Italian Grand Prix, which will take place on September 6.
