Ja Morant vowed to improve after the Memphis Grizzlies succumbed to a damaging playoff loss ot the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Grizzlies were on the end of the heaviest playoff defeat in the last decade, losing 131-80 on Sunday.

It is the biggest defeat a team has suffered in the postseason since the Chicago Bulls beat the Milwaukee Bucks by 54 in 2015.

According to ESPN, it is the fifth-largest margin of victory in a playoff game.

Oklahoma City, who were able to sit all of their starters in the final quarter, led by 58 points at one stage.

And Morant said the Grizzlies must swiftly find a way to bounce back.

"We'll never play that bad again," he said.

"They had a lot of easy looks and offensively took care of the ball.

"If we win Tuesday, the series is 1-1. This game won't matter."

Grizzlies interim coach Tuomas Iisalo conceded there were many facets of his side's game that needed rapid improvement in a short space of time.

"Luckily for us, there's only one way from this, and that's up," said Iisalo.

"We will analyse it, we'll learn from it, and then we will fix those things that hurt us. But there were a lot of things."

Desmond Bane was keen to point out that the series is far from over.

"At the end of the day, it's one game,2 Bane said, as reported by The Commercial Appeal.

"If we lose by 50 or lose on a buzzer-beater, the series is still 1-0. Not the result we wanted, for sure, but still got a good opportunity to get one on the road in two days."

The Grizzlies and Thunder face off in Game 2 on Tuesday.
