India made it four wins from as many games at the T20 World Cup with a 17-run victory over the Netherlands.

With their place at the top of Group A already assured, holders India were simply looking to keep up their perfect form in their final group-stage match.

Shivam Dube top-scored with 66 for the co-hosts, who batted first in Ahmedabad.

Abhishek Sharma (0) and Ishan Kishan (18) were both bowled by Aryan Dutt (2-19) in the powerplay.

Two in two dropped in the last over, but Tilak Varma (31) and Suryakumar Yadav (34) set about powering India on, before Dube came in and smashed his way to a half-century.

Dube's knock included six maximums, as he reached his total in just 31 deliveries before succumbing to Logan van Beek (3-56).

Michael Levitt (24) and Max O'Dowd (20) made a solid enough start for the Dutch before falling to Hardik Pandya (1-40) and Varun Chakravarthy, respectively.

Varun was the star of the show with the ball for India, though, taking 3-14, while Dube also chipped in with 2-35 as the Netherlands were limited to 176-7.

Data Debrief: Doing it by the dozen

That is now 12 T20 World Cup wins in a row for India, who have started their title defence in statement fashion.

There was an unwanted record for Sharma, though, as he became just the third batter to log three consecutive ducks in an edition of a men's T20 World Cup, joining West Indies' Andre Fletcher (2009) and Uganda's Roger Mukasa (2024).

Varun, meanwhile, has now taken a wicket in each of his last 17 T20Is.

On the flip side, Dutch bowler Van Beek is also on a fine run, having taken a wicket in each of his four appearances at this edition of the tournament. In fact, overall, Van Beek has recorded at least one dismissal in 12 T20 World Cup matches, which puts him behind only Paul van Meekeren (14 games) in the Netherlands' record books.
