T20 World Cup: England do not mind getting 'ugly' wins, says Dawson
Liam Dawson is more than happy if England win "ugly" at the T20 World Cup, having struggled to hit top form at the tournament so far.
England have stuttered with the bat at the tournament, with their highest total so far being the 202 they posted against Italy in their final group-stage game.
They particularly struggled against Sri Lanka in their first Super 8s outing, stumbling to 146-9 before their bowlers came to the rescue to skittle the co-hosts out for 95 and secure a 51-run victory.
Given New Zealand and Pakistan's match on Saturday was washed out, a win for England against the latter would confirm their place in the semi-finals with a game to spare.
And Dawson insists the manner of the wins are not important, as long as England keep grinding them out.
"We know that we can play a lot better," Dawson told reporters. "But at the end of the day, in tournament cricket, you just need to get the win, however ugly.
"The fight we've shown with the ball shows that this team is in a very good place."

England captain Harry Brook echoed Dawson's sentiments, acknowledging that the 2010 and 2022 T20 World Cup champions had been far from their best.
However, he remains optimistic about what they can achieve throughout the rest of the tournament.
"We still haven't had that perfect game," Brook said.
"With the bat, we haven't managed to get the starts and the big scores we'd like. But I think that's quite an exciting prospect.
"I see that as something coming very soon, and with the likes of Jos Buttler not coming off, Jacob Bethell, myself, Tom Banton not getting big scores, and us still managing to get over the line and get the job done, it's awesome.
"Hopefully those rewards will come a little bit later down the line."
