
Sun cool Dream for first home win of season
Marina Mabrey scored a season-high 34 points, Tina Charles was at her best late, and the Connecticut Sun earned their first home win of the season, beating the Atlanta Dream 84-76 on Friday.
Mabrey shot 13 for 22 from the field and connected on three of her eight 3-point attempts, while Charles scored seven of her 19 points in the fourth quarter. Bria Hartley finished with 11 points and a team-high six assists.
The Sun, 2-6, opened 0-3 at Mohegan Sun Arena before Friday's victory.
The Dream, who saw their four-game winning streak end, were paced by Brittney Griner and Rhyne Howard, who each scored 18 points. Naz Hillmon added 14 points.

Sparks handle Bueckers-less Wings
Azura Stevens led a balanced attack with 21 points, and the Los Angeles Sparks beat the Dallas Wings 93-79.
The Wings were without No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers for the third consecutive game due to a concussion.
Stevens made five 3-pointers and was 8 for 11 shooting from the field as the Sparks improved to 3-6. Kelsey Plum had 11 points and nine assists, while Dearica Hamby scored 20.
Dallas suffered their fourth consecutive loss and fell to 1-8 on the season.
DiJonai Carrington led the Wings in scoring with 16 points but committed seven turnovers.
