Smith century propels Sixers to victory over Warner's Thunder
Steve Smith edged out his former Australia team-mate David Warner as his century propelled Sydney Sixers to a five-wicket victory over Sydney Thunder.
The Sixers successfully chased down 190 to keep their hopes of sealing second place in the Big Bash League alive.
Smith was key to their efforts, scoring 100 from just 42 deliveries on Friday.
David Warner's unbeaten 110 had earlier helped the Thunder mount 189-6 from their 20 overs, with Sam Curran (3-28) the pick of the Sixers' bowlers.
Yet alongside Babar Azam (47), Smith swiftly set about pushing the Sixers towards their target, with their first-wicket partnership worth 141 from 12 overs.
Tanveer Sangha (1-33) did for Smith amid a brief Sixers wobble in which they lost five wickets for just 28 runs, with Nathan McAndrew taking 2-32, but Lachlan Shaw (13 not out) and Jack Edwards (17 not out) sealed the derby bragging rights.

Data Debrief: Smith into the history books
Smith leads the way in the BBL for the most centuries (four), ahead of Warner and Ben McDermott (both three).
And Smith set a new BBL record in the process, as he smashed Ryan Hadley for 32 in one over. That is the most runs hit in one over in the history of the competition.
The Thunder's season is now over, and they sit bottom with four points, after losing eight of their 10 matches.
