Scotland 50-40 France: Six Nations title race blown wide open after 90-point thriller
Scotland kept their hopes of a first Six Nations title alive in stunning fashion as they edged defending champions France 50-40 in a bonus-point win at Murrayfield on Saturday.
France knew a bonus-point triumph would see them retain the title with a game to spare, but a seven-try display from Gregor Townsend's side ended their Grand Slam hopes.
Darcy Graham went over with just five minutes on the clock to put Scotland in control, but the hosts had to fight back after Louis Bielle‑Biarrey and Theo Attissogbe got tries.
Kyle Steyn and Pierre Schoeman provided that response for Scotland to put them 19-14 up at the break, with Les Bleus blown away in the opening stages of the second half.
Graham and Steyn doubled their tallies on either side of scores from Ben White and Tom Jordan to put their team 30 points ahead and above France in the standings.
However, a late flurry of tries from Antoine Dupont, Thomas Ramos (two) and Oscar Jegou earned France a losing bonus point that kept them top ahead of their final fixture.
Scotland take on Ireland, who are also not out of the running, next Saturday, while France's late heroics ensure their fate remains in their own hands against England in Paris.

Data Debrief: Tries galore at Murrayfield
After surviving a scare against Wales last time out, in a game that saw them come from 17-5 down, Scotland delivered a performance worthy of champions here, and that could become a reality by this time next week.
Indeed, Scotland scored as many as seven tries against France for the first time in 101 years, with this encounter being the first ever men's Home/Five/Six Nations fixture to see both sides score 40+ points.
The result also saw Scotland put together three consecutive victories at the Six Nations for the first time since winning their last two games of the 2021 edition and their opener in 2022. They have now won five of their last six matches in the championships at home, too.
