Scotland 24-33 Argentina: Visitors erase 21-point deficit in stirring Murrayfield fightback
Scotland capitulated from 21-0 up as they were beaten 33-24 by Argentina in front of a stunned Murrayfield crowd on Sunday.
Two tries from Ewan Ashman and one from Jack Dempsey put Scotland in total control by the 45th minute, with Finn Russell nailing all three conversions.
Argentina were some way off the pace at that point, but the momentum switched when Blair Kinghorn was sin-binned for illegally halting a Pumas charge.
Julian Montoya went over shortly afterwards to reduce the arrears, with a video review required to award the try, and within three minutes, Rodrigo Isgro ran straight through Russell to cross.
A Russell penalty stretched Scotland's lead to 24-12, but those points were Scotland's last of the match as the Pumas finished strongly.
Pedro Rubiolo crashed over between the posts to pull Argentina within touching distance, then Pablo Matera went over for another converted try as the visitors inched ahead for the first time with five minutes remaining.
There was still time for Argentina to add an insurance score and pile further pressure on under-fire Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend. Justo Piccardo went over in the corner with the hosts all at sea, and Santi Carreras added the extras once more.
3 - #SCOvARG was just the 3rd match between two Tier 1 nations to see one side fail to score in the 1st half, before going on to score 30+ in the 2nd half, after England v Ireland in 1988 (0-3 / 35-3) and Australia v New Zealand in 2022 (0-17 / 37-39 at FT). Seesaw. pic.twitter.com/JMgDeaceAa

Data Debrief: Pumas bare their teeth after half-time
To demonstrate the enormity of Sunday's turnaround, this was just the third match between two tier-one nations to see one team fail to score any points in the first half, before amassing 30 or more after the interval.
The previous instances came in 1988, when England beat Ireland 35-3 (0-3 down at half-time), and 2022, when New Zealand held on to beat Australia 39-37 (led 17-0 at half-time).
