Danny Rohl insists there is "no question" over whether he will still be Rangers' head coach next season, as he stressed the need to find new leaders on the pitch.

Rohl replaced Russell Martin in October after the former Southampton boss endured a nightmare stint at Ibrox, only lasting 17 games and departing with the team 11 points off the top of the Scottish Premiership.

His appointment initially heralded an upturn, with Rangers putting themselves in a position to battle Hearts and Celtic for the title.

But a three-match losing run, which culminated with a 3-1 Old Firm defeat on Sunday, officially ended their title bid and confirmed they will end the season without a major trophy.

It will be back-to-back campaigns without silverware for Rangers, leading some supporters to call for Rohl's departure.

But when asked if he had received assurances regarding his position, Rohl said: "Yes. I think in the last 48 hours, there was unbelievable support from the board.

"Everyone around me sees a lot of positive things, but we are also critical of ourselves. I think there's no question mark."

Rangers face Hibernian in their final home game of the season on Wednesday, before rounding out their campaign away at Falkirk.

The Gers now face an important off-season, with captain James Tavernier having already confirmed he will leave after an illustrious 11-year spell with the club, during which he has won three major trophies and worn the armband in a Europa League final.

"The most important thing is it is what I have said many times, we have to take all the information we need into the new season," Rohl added.

"I think you can imagine, with Tav, we will lose the captain and this is a big signal for us.

"We need new leaders, more leaders for the dressing room, to set our standards that we want on the training pitch, in difficult moments in the game. I think this is crucial. This is a great opportunity to work on this.

"Yesterday, I had conversations again with the club and you can really trust me, I'm very clear, especially also after the last three weeks, what we need to be top, top, top."
