Reese has first career triple-double as Sky top Sun

Angel Reese had 11 points, 13 rebounds and 11 rebounds for her first WNBA triple-double, and the Chicago Sky defeated the Connecticut Sun 78-66 on Sunday.

Reese added three steals and two blocked shots while making all seven of her free throw attempts.

Rookie guard Hailey Van Lith led the Sky with 16 points, the most she has scored in her young WNBA career. Camilla Cardoso, Kia Nurse and Ariel Atkins also scored in double figures for the Sky.

The win was Chicago's first in Commissioner's Cup play (1-3, 3-7 overall).

Connecticut fell to 1-3 in Cup play and 2-8 overall.

Marina Mabrey led the Sun with 22 points but also committed six turnovers.

 

Sabally, Mercury hold off Aces

Satou Sabally had 22 points and nine rebounds, Alyssa Thomas dished out 13 assists and the Phoenix Mercury beat the Las Vegas Aces 76-70.

Aces star and three-time league MVP A'ja Wilson missed a second consecutive game due to a concussion.

With Wilson out, Las Vegas committed 19 turnovers to Phoenix's 12, with the Mercury converting 22 points after turnovers to the Aces’ 13.

Phoenix's bench outscored Las Vegas' reserves 28-14.

Mercury guard Sami Whitcomb knocked down a team-high four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points.

The Aces were paced by Chelsea Gray's 20 points and 10 rebounds. Jewell Lloyd scored 17 for Las Vegas, and Jackie Young had 15.

Dream rout Mystics for 3rd straight win

Allisha Gray had 32 points, five rebounds and four assists to lead the Atlanta Dream to an 89-56 romp over the Washington Mystics.

Gray was 10 of 14 from the field and 6 for 9 from 3-point range en route to her season-high scoring output. Atlanta improved to 8-1 this season when Gray has scored at least 15 points.

The Dream continuously rained 3-pointers on the Mystics, with Te-Hina Paopao shooting 4 for 6 from 3-point range and Rhyne Howard making four of her 11 attempts from deep.

Sonia Cintron was the only Washington player in double figures, finishing with 10 points.
