Patrick Reed described his triumph at the Dubai Desert Classic as "special" as he clinched his first Rolex Series victory on the DP World Tour.

Reed, who started his final round with a four-shot advantage over the field, carded a level-par 72 to finish four shots in front of Andy Sullivan at the close of Sunday's play.

The American had two birdies and two bogeys to end the week on 14 under, while Julien Guerrier carded an eagle, two birdies and a bogey to take third at nine under.

One-time major champion Reed saw his lead cut as David Puig closed in following a hat-trick of birdies.

Reed did, however, recover with birdies at 10 and 13 to regain his four-shot lead, and the 35-year-old was thrilled to get himself over the line.

"I think the biggest thing this week that was so special is I've won on every tour except this one," Reed said at his winner's press conference.

"Even though online it says I have three wins, one was a Major and two were WGC events. So they are all co-sanctioned events.

"It's something that's always kind of been eating at me, sitting there not actually having a win over here.

"And to come to a place where we had a chance in 2023 and allowed that one to kind of slip by, it was very important for me to come out here and play well.

"And to have that opportunity, and to close it off means a lot to me, especially doing it here in Dubai, which I love coming to, makes it even more special."

It marks Reed's first DP World Tour crown since the 2020 WGC-Mexico Championship.

Nicolai Hojgaard, Francesco Molinari and Jayden Schaper were one shot further back, tied for fourth.

Ricardo Gouveia, Marcus Armitage and Puig, who was given a two-shot penalty for grounding a club in the bunker at the last, finished at seven under.

Rory McIlroy ended the weekend 12 strokes back on two under alongside 2025 champion Tyrrell Hatton.

World number three Tommy Fleetwood shot a 69 on Sunday, which was good enough to jump 20 places on the leaderboard and finish in a tie for 41st.
