Powell reportedly sent to Heat as part of three-team trade
The Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz reportedly pulled off a three-team trade on Monday.
Norman Powell is being dealt to the Heat, John Collins is being sent to the Clippers and Kevin Love, Kyle Anderson and a 2027 second-round draft pick are going to the Jazz, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
Powell, 32, is a 10-year NBA veteran and is coming off his best pro season since being selected 46th overall in the 2015 draft by the Toronto Raptors.
In 60 games for the Clippers in 2024-25, the 6-foot-4 small forward averaged a career-high 21.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists. His average of 3.0 made 3-pointers per game ranked 15th in the NBA, while his 41.8 per cent shooting from 3-point range ranked 17th.
He gives the Miami lineup a needed scorer to compliment Tyler Herro following the departure of Jimmy Butler.
Powell spent the past three seasons in Los Angeles, and has career averages of 13.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists while also playing for the Portland Trail Blazers.
