Henry Pollock wants to be remembered as part of the best British and Irish Lions team ever, as they target a first 3-0 series whitewash of Australia in 121 years.

The Lions will face the Wallabies in the first of three Tests next Saturday in Brisbane, with matches in Melbourne and Sydney set for the two weeks that follow.

The Lions' most recent tour of Australia, in 2013, saw them register two wins and one defeat against the Wallabies. They also lost the 2001 series 2-1 and won by the same scoreline in 1989.

Not since 1904 – as part of a wider Australia and New Zealand Tour – have the Lions gone down under and achieved a 3-0 whitewash of the Wallabies.

The 1974 Lions are generally regarded as the greatest side of all time, winning three Tests and drawing one in South Africa as part of a wider 22-match unbeaten run.

And after winning all five of their warm-up matches on Australian soil, Pollock feels the class of 2025 are ready.

"We want to come here and be the best Lions team ever," the 20-year-old said. "We have been talking about that loads and 3-0 is definitely on the table, hopefully.

"We are all trying to strive to be the best team we can be and get that 3-0 win."

Pollock is hoping to make the cut for Andy Farrell's 23-man Test squad, and the versatile back row is content to play anywhere his head coach needs him.

"I am happy to play wherever in the back row, whether that is at six, seven or eight, I will adjust and try my best," the Northampton man added.

"If that is me playing or not playing, then I will adjust and be the best player I can be."

Last week, coach Farrell made headlines by calling up his son Owen, who enjoyed an impressive 30-minute cameo during Saturday's 48-0 win over an Australia and New Zealand Invitational XV.

Pollock has been rooming with his former idol, and he believes the experience he brings to the Lions' travelling party is invaluable.

"It was good to get chatting to him. He is an amazing player and an amazing person as well," said Pollock.

"It's amazing to have him here, and with his experience there is no-one else like him. He has given 100% to the team – he has been on top of everything, which is what you want from him.

"He has been great. I am learning so much from him and the other players. His experience is like no other."
