Pacers star Haliburton reportedly has torn Achilles
A leg injury sidelined Tyrese Haliburton for the final three quarters of Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals.
The severity of that injury will likely prevent the Indiana Pacers star from playing for most, if not all, of the 2025-26 regular season.
Haliburton tore his right Achilles in Sunday's loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to Shams Charania of ESPN on Monday.
Recovery time for such an injury is approximately one year.

The injury occurred with 4:55 remaining in the opening period, when Haliburton planted his right foot while attempting to drive and immediately collapsed to the floor.
Haliburton suffered a strained right calf on a similar play in Game 5 but returned to that game and played in Indiana’s Game 6 win, despite acknowledging an increased risk of long-term injury.
The two-time NBA All-Star was off to a strong start before exiting Game 7, tallying nine points while making 3 of 4 shots from 3-point range. The game was tied at 16-16 when Haliburton went down.
While the Pacers initially stepped up in the wake of Haliburton's injury and went into half-time with a 48-47 lead, they eventually ran out of steam in a 103-91 loss.
The seriousness of the injury raises significant questions about Indiana's future, as Pascal Siakam and Bennedict Mathurin will be tasked with stepping up their game while their leader recovers.
