Overton named only England replacement for final South Africa ODI
Jamie Overton has been named as England’s only change for their final ODI against South Africa.
Overton comes in as a straight swap for Saqib Mahmood, keeping the pressure on Jacob Bethell and Will Jacks to produce quality bowling as England’s fifth bowler.
Bethell and Jacks were targeted by the Proteas batters in the second match, giving away 112 runs in 10 combined overs while only taking one wicket.
South Africa already have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series after wins at Headingley and Lord’s, securing their first ODI series win in England since 1998.
Ben Duckett retains his place in the lineup despite being rested for their upcoming T20I series against both South Africa and Ireland.

England assistant coach Marcus Trescothick hopes Duckett can recover in time for a busy winter period, which features the Ashes.
“Brendon [McCullum] spoke to him over the last few days, trying to get a gauge of where he's at,” Trescothick said.
“You look at every situation individually and in its own way, looking at the volume of cricket they've played and by chatting with them to see how they're feeling. This is the best [decision] to maximise performances going forward as we head into a big winter.
“We need certain players to be firing, and Ben is certainly one of those. We need the boys firing going into November, December, January.
“That's an important time. It's not to say things aren't important coming up, but sometimes you just have to take your foot off the gas a bit and rejuvenate the mind. Then, you can get back on the horse and crack on.”
