New Zealand 24-17 South Africa: Defending champions held off at Eden Park
New Zealand held off a late fightback from South Africa to record a 24-17 win over the Springboks at the Rugby Championship.
Second-half tries from Cobus Reinach and Malcom Marx threatened New Zealand's 14-3 lead at the break, but the All-Blacks rallied to hold off the reigning champions and move to the top of the table.
The hosts made a fast start at Eden Park as Emoni Narawa opened the scoring with a try inside the first minute before Will Jordan also crossed the line 15 minutes later for New Zealand.
South Africa's only points in the first half came from Handre Pollard's penalty goal, but the Springboks made inroads in the second period when Marx and Reinach scored either side of Quinn Tupaea's try for the All-Blacks.
Reinach's try came five minutes from time, but New Zealand managed to avoid a humbling defeat at home as they saw out the closing minutes with great composure to secure an important win.

Australia, meanwhile, secured a very late victory over Argentina to keep their hopes of winning the Rugby Championship alive after Angus Bell scored the clinching try in the sixth minute of additional time.
Joseph-Aukuso Sua'ali'i scored two second-half tries to help the Wallabies recover from a 21-7 deficit at the break and eventually win the contest 28-24 at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
Data Debrief: Eden Park – New Zealand's fortress
New Zealand have not lost at Eden Park since 1994, a 23-20 victory for France. The All-Blacks have now won 48 Test matches since that defeat at the venue, while also playing out two draws.
They have now also won eight consecutive matches against South Africa at Eden Park, with the Springboks last recording a victory at the stadium in 1937.
Australia's 14-point second-half turnaround in their win over Argentina was the third-biggest half-time deficit that they have managed to overturn in a Test win, and the largest at home.
