NBA: Timberwolves rally to stun Spurs
Anthony Edwards’ driving bank shot with 16.8 seconds remaining Sunday capped the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 104-103 comeback win over the Southwest Division-leading San Antonio Spurs.
Minnesota (26-14) fell behind 16-0 to start the game and trailed by 14 points after the third quarter before rallying.
The Timberwolves chipped away in the fourth and Edwards gave them their first lead of the game with 2:19 to go.
De’Aaron Fox’s jumper with 34 seconds left regained the lead for San Antonio (27-12) before Edwards’ go-ahead basket, and Fox missed a three-point attempt with two seconds remaining to seal Minnesota’s win.
Edwards had 23 points and Donte DiVincenzo scored 19 along with seven assists for the Timberwolves, who have won 16 of their last 22 games.
Victor Wembanyama led San Antonio with 29 points and matched a season high with three steals.

Thunder race past struggling Heat
The Oklahoma City Thunder took control in the second half and defeated the reeling Miami Heat 124-112 as the defending NBA champions continued to put their slump in the past with a third consecutive win.
Oklahoma City began the season with 24 wins in their first 25 games, but then went 6-6 prior to this three-game run.
Reigning league MVP and NBA Finals MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 29 points, eight assists and five rebounds for the Thunder, who outscored Miami 70-53 in the final two quarters to improve their NBA-best record to 33-7.

Knicks end Trail Blazers’ five-game run
The New York Knicks’ starting lineup led the way in a 123-114 victory that snapped the Portland Trail Blazers’ season-high five-game winning streak.
Atlantic Division-leading New York (25-14) got 106 of their 123 points from starters Jalen Brunson (26), OG Anunoby (24), Karl-Anthony Towns (20), Josh Hart (18) and Mikal Bridges (18) to post their second win in three contests following a four-game skid.
Hart played for the first time since spraining his right ankle during New York’s win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas.
The Knicks are 20-9 this season when Hart plays and 5-5 without him.
Deni Avdija had 25 points, Shaedon Sharpe scored 23 and rookie Caleb Love added 21 points off the bench for the Trail Blazers, who missed an opportunity to get back to .500 and fell to 19-21.
