Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 50 points again and the NBA-leading Oklahoma City Thunder routed the Phoenix Suns 140-109 on Wednesday night.

The Thunder (40-9) said Gilgeous-Alexander became the ninth player in NBA history to score at least 50 points three times in a seven-game span. He had a career-high 54 against Utah on Jan. 29 and 52 at Golden State a week ago.

Phoenix's Kevin Durant sat out with a sprained left ankle. The 36-year-old All-Star forward remains 26 points short of 30,000 for his career.

Bradley Beal led Phoenix with 25 points, Devin Booker had 19 and Royce O'Neale 18. They have lost three in a row.

The Suns led 63-61 at halftime, despite 28 points from Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Thunder opened the second half on a 13-0 run to take a 74-63 lead. Gilgeous-Alexander's steal and two-handed jam gave them an 81-65 advantage with 6:21 left in the third.

Gilgeous-Alexander scored his 50th point on a baseline jumper early in the fourth quarter to give Oklahoma City a 114-84 lead.

The Thunder committed just six turnovers, with two in the final minute.

Edwards pours in 49 in Wolves' victory

Anthony Edwards scored 20 of his 49 points in the third quarter and the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the short-handed Chicago Bulls 127-108.

Edwards hit six 3-pointers and was 17 of 18 from the free-throw line and also added nine rebounds. He tied Kevin Garnett for the second-most 30-point games and tied Karl-Anthony Towns for the most 40-point games in team history.

Naz Reid had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Rudy Gobert added 10 points and 15 rebounds for Minnesota.

Coby White had 20 points, and Nikola Vucevic added 10 points and 11 rebounds for Chicago, which was without center Zach Collins, swingman Kevin Huerter and guard Tre Jones after the weekend trade that sent Zach LaVine to Sacramento and Kings guard De'Aaron Fox to San Antonio.

Chicago battled back on the second night of a back-to-back after Minnesota started the game on a 22-4 run and led by 21 midway through the first quarter.

After the Bulls had taken an 82-79 lead with 4:08 left in the third, Edwards went to work. Following a Minnesota timeout, he hit a 3-pointer before blocking a 3 on the other end. Edwards then missed a 3 on the offensive end but got an offensive rebound and a putback while being fouled. He hit the free throw to put the Wolves up 3, and they never trailed again.

Fox helps Spurs win in debut

Victor Wembanyama broke a tie with a free throw with 2.4 seconds left and De'Aaron Fox scored 24 points in his first game for San Antonio, leading the Spurs to a 126-125 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

Fox arrived from Sacramento in a three-team trade Sunday and started in his San Antonio debut as Wembanyama's new point guard.

Wembanyama, who also had 24 points, intentionally missed the second free throw, denying Atlanta the opportunity for an inbounds play. Trae Young missed a last-second 3-pointer.

Wembanyama added 12 rebounds, and Fox matched his season high with 13 assists.

Young had 32 points with 12 assists for Atlanta, while Onyeka Okongwu scored a career-high 30 points. The Hawks have lost nine of 10.

The Spurs led by 20 early in the second half but had to withstand the Hawks' comeback attempt. De'Andre Hunter's 3-pointer with less than two minutes remaining pulled the Hawks to 123-121. Young made two free throws to tie it at 123 and hit a jumper for another tie at 125.

San Antonio led 72-54 at halftime to set a season-high for points in the first half.
