McIlroy more motivated than ever after back-to-back Masters wins
Rory McIlroy insists he is more motivated than ever after he successfully defended his Masters title last month.
The Northern Irishman became the fourth player in history to win back-to-back titles at Augusta National, after Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods, following his one-shot victory over Scottie Scheffler.
McIlroy also became the sixth player to complete the career Grand Slam, while he is the first European to do so.
McIlroy will return to action at the Truist Championship, a tournament he has won four times, this week, ahead of the PGA Championship starting on May 14, the US Open on June 18 and The Open on July 16.
The world number two is eager to add to his trophy collection, with his motivation boosted after winning his second green jacket.
"It [returning to action] feels a lot different [to last year]," said McIlroy.

"I've spoken about this a lot, I felt like winning the Grand Slam was going to be this life-changing thing and in some ways it was, but in other ways I had to remember, 'no, I still have a lot of my career left and I want to keep playing and keep competing.'
"This year, I think winning was validation for all the work that I've put in over the last few years to get myself back to this place where I'm winning majors.
"I'm excited for the road ahead. I'm excited for this week, I'm excited for Aronimink next week [PGA Championship], Shinnecock [US Open], Birkdale [The Open].
"I feel like, if anything, I'm more motivated after what happened at Augusta this year than I've ever been."
