Tanzid Hasan's magnificent maiden century trumped Salman Agha's follow-up ton as Bangladesh secured a thrilling 11-run victory over Pakistan to clinch a 2-1 ODI series win on Sunday.

Put in to bat on a bouncy Mirpur track, Bangladesh got off to a fine start as Tanzid and Saif Hassan (36) shared a 105-run opening stand.

Tanzid carried on after Hassan fell in the 19th over, powering a run-a-ball 107 and guiding Bangladesh to a first-innings total of 290-5, with helpful cameos from Litton Das (41) and Towhid Hridoy (48).

Pakistan's chase started poorly as their batters failed to contend with the pace of the wicket, with Taskin Ahmed (4-49) and Nahid Rana (2-62) striking early to reduce the visitors to 82-5.

But Agha rose to the fore with a sensational 106 from just 98 deliveries, single-handedly keeping Pakistan in the game until Taskin had him caught at deep midwicket off a looping slower delivery.

Pakistan skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi kept hopes alive deep into the death overs with a boundary-laden cameo, striking two sixes off Mustafizur Rahman (3-54) to set up a grandstand finish.

But with 14 needed from the final over, Afridi was unable to find the decisive blows as Rishad Hossain, despite dropping a catch off his own bowling, had Shaheen stumped on 37 to seal a thrilling 2-1 series victory for the Tigers.

Data Debrief: Two tons to cap off a thrilling series

Tanzid will undoubtedly steal the headlines after scoring his maiden ODI century. The 25-year-old opening bat scored his 107 runs off exactly 107 balls, striking six fours and seven sixes.

But take nothing away from Agha's ton, which was equally impressive in its own right. He struck nine fours and four sixes on his way to 106, batting at a positive strike rate of 108.16.

In the end, it was Tanzid who came out on top though, as his ton paved the way for Bangladesh to win their second successive bilateral ODI series against Pakistan, also triumphing in this series in 2015.
